Keep yours off this list

Most companies are struck off for missed annual filings. We file your returns every year and keep the registered office valid.

How we counted

Source

From the MCA register for 21 states and union territories, up to 2 June 2026. Telangana, Goa and some smaller states are not in this edition. Every company and LLP on the register is counted by its year of registration.

Status groups

"Struck off" includes companies under process of striking off. "Closed, merged or other" covers dissolved, liquidated, amalgamated, converted (for example to an LLP), dormant and inactive companies. The register gives today's status, not the date it changed.

Questions

What does "struck off" mean?

The Registrar of Companies has removed the company from the register, usually because it stopped filing returns or was not carrying on business, or because the owners applied to close it. A struck-off company cannot trade; it can be restored only through the tribunal.

Does this show when companies were struck off?

No. The register shows each company's current status, not the date it changed. So each bar shows what has happened, by today, to the companies registered in that year.

How do I keep my company from being struck off?

File the annual return and financial statements every year, even in a year with no business, and keep the registered office address valid. If you plan to stop, close the company properly instead of leaving it dormant.

Where does the data come from?

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs Company Master Data on data.gov.in, one file per state or union territory. This edition uses the files for 21 states and UTs (Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal), with registrations up to 2 June 2026.
